This Riesling “SL” Auslese 2025 is a lush, noble sweet selection from old Riesling vines in the Großheppacher Steingrüble. The grapes were harvested in mid-November, when concentration and ripeness reach their peak. “SL” stands for selektionierte Lese: only the best, perfectly ripe bunches were selected. Spontaneous, cooled fermentation preserves the precision and freshness, keeping the wine elegant and sparkling despite its richness.
In the glass, the wine is dense, concentrated, and brilliant. On the palate, you taste ripe yellow fruit and honeyed notes, carried by a lively acidity that perfectly balances the high sweetness. The texture is rich and enveloping, but the tension remains taut. This is an Auslese with impressive depth and aging potential: already seductive, but with years of maturation ahead of it.
At the table, this Auslese shines with blue cheeses, desserts with stone fruit or citrus, or as a meditation wine on its own. Its balance also comes into its own with spicy Asian dishes with sweet and sour accents.
