La Montina's Franciacorta Brut is the winery's calling card and a pure expression of the unique terroir in the heart of Franciacorta. This elegant and versatile sparkling wine is made from 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Nero, sourced from carefully selected vineyards in seven municipalities within the appellation of origin. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand in small crates of up to 17 kilos, usually in the second half of August, after which they are rigorously selected both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Gentle pressing is followed by primary fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with 10% of the Chardonnay further refined in wood until the spring after harvest. Then tirage takes place for second fermentation in bottle, followed by at least 22 months of aging on yeasts. The result is a Franciacorta with a lively mousse, fresh acids and a straw yellow colour that invites the refined aromas of fresh fruit and delicate floral notes.
With a dosage of 6 grams of sugar per litre and an alcohol content of 12%, this Brut offers a perfect balance between freshness and roundness. Ideal as a festive aperitif, it is also a reliable companion to sophisticated starters, fish dishes and white meat. Served at 7°C, its pure, fresh character comes into its own, proving itself as a Franciacorta for any special moment.
