The 2024 Riesling trocken comes from Wein & Sektgut Hirschmüller's oldest Riesling vineyard, where 48-year-old vines are deeply rooted in loess loam on Muschel lime. This chalky soil gives the wine its distinctive tension, freshness and subtle minerality. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and gently pressed as whole bunches. Fermentation takes place chilled in stainless steel, after which the wine rests on fine lie until spring 2025. The organic method contributes to the pure, precise style of this Riesling.
On the nose, the wine presents itself fresh-floral and fruity-spicy at the same time, with aromas of apricot, grapefruit and lemon. This lively bouquet reflects the character of old vines producing small, aromatic berries with high concentration. The wine has an inviting, sparkling nose that immediately makes you curious to take the first sip.
On the palette, the 2024 Riesling opens with an exciting intensity of juicy fruit, carried by elegant minerality and a refreshing structure.
