Weinreich's Grauburgunder 2024 comes from vineyards around Bechtheim in Rheinhessen. Here the grapes grow on soils of loess, loamy weathering and lime marl - a terroir that provides structure, ripe fruit and subtle minerality. This combination of soil and climate forms the basis for a powerful yet elegant white wine.
In the vineyard and in the cellar, careful handling of the grapes is key. The juice ferments for several weeks with the grape's natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures further on the fine lie until bottling, giving extra roundness and complexity without losing its fresh character.
In the glass, the wine shows a juicy and slightly exotic aroma, in which notes of candied fruit emerge. On the palate, lively acidity provides balance, while subtle earthy and mineral nuances give the wine depth. The result is an honest, powerful Grauburgunder that comes into its own perfectly at the table.
