Château La Croix Fourche Mallard 2022 comes from the heart of Saint-Émilion, where gravel mixed with sand provides warmth, drainage and concentration. This small estate (2.5 hectares) delivers a powerful but refined red wine that stays true to its exceptional terroir. The style is classic Bordeaux: intense, layered and built on ripe fruit and fine tannins.
The blend consists of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinification follows the classic Bordeaux method with a long, temperature-controlled fermentation and subsequent ageing for extra depth and complexity. The result is a wine with volume, structure and storage potential.
In the glass, the colour is deep Bordeaux with amethyst reflections. The nose is powerful but elegant, with aromas of blackcurrant and candied fruit, complemented by notes of gingerbread, cedar and vanilla. On the palate, the fruit explodes into a rich, dense structure with tasty, fine and enveloping tannins and a long, harmonious finish. A classic Saint-Émilion with conviction and finesse.
