El Propósito from Viticultores de Lapuebla is a refined and expressive Rioja that brings together tradition and precision. Sourced from vineyards in Lapuebla de Labarca at around 400 metres altitude, this wine perfectly reflects the diversity of terroir, climate and grape varieties in Rioja Alavesa.
The blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Viura provides both structure and finesse. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing in 225 and 500-litre French oak barrels. With a 7-month ageing in wood, the wine develops complexity without losing its fresh character.
In the glass, it shows a bright cherry red colour with purple reflections. The nose is seductive and layered, with aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and strawberry, complemented by subtle plum notes and spicy accents. On the palate, it is powerful and elegant, with ripe, soft tannins, lively acidity and a long, harmonious finish full of nuance.
