Carrevillar from Viticultores de Lapuebla is an exclusive and powerful single vineyard Rioja, sourced from old Tempranillo vines from Laguardia. Located at around 600 metres altitude and planted in 1930, the "Carrakripan" vineyard produces grapes with exceptional concentration and depth.
The grapes are harvested by hand and fully destemmed, followed by spontaneous fermentation in open vats with daily pigeage. Malolactic fermentation and aging take place in 500-litre French oak barrels, where the wine refines for 11 months, followed by a further 5 months of bottle aging. This artisanal process results in a wine with structure, complexity and elegance.
In the glass, it shows an intense cherry-red colour with purple reflections. The nose is expressive and layered, with aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and strawberry, complemented by plum, spicy notes and a subtle earthy undertone. On the palate, it is powerful and structured, with ripe, silky tannins, fresh acidity and a long, refined finish.
The wine comes directly from the winemakers, they send the bottles themselves.
