The Weiß & Grau 2022 is the predecessor to the 2023 in the range, but displays its own character that is distinctly different from the younger vintage. The same philosophy, the same recipe, but a story of its own in the glass.
In the glass, the 2022 is clear and pale yellow. The aroma is spicy and herbaceous, with a citrusy yellow fruit profile, nutty hints, and a touch of mushrooms and root vegetables. On the palate, it is nutty and herbaceous, verging on spicy, with yellow fruit, fine acidity and soft tannins. Yeast-driven nuances, yellow spices, a hint of red berries and flowers in the background, a light smoky note, wild mushrooms, some creaminess and a good to very good finish. Slightly fuller-bodied and rounder than the 2023, with more depth.
Delicious with light pasta dishes, grilled vegetables, mild cheeses or as an aperitif. Serve at 9–11°C.
