The Weiß & Grau is Enderle & Moll’s everyday white wine and, at the same time, one of their most personal. The name says it all: white and grey, Weissburgunder and Grauburgunder, complemented by Müller-Thurgau in equal parts. No frills, no complicated stories. Just a wine that’s a pleasure to drink, made with integrity and straight from the Baden soil.
The grapes are left on the skins for a short time, after which the wine matures on the lees in stainless steel for ten months. This gives it its fresh, slightly spicy character. No filtration, no fining. In the glass, the wine is clear and pale yellow. The nose is aromatic and pleasant: herbs, yellow fruits, a hint of liquorice and nutty notes. On the palate, it is straightforward, with lively acidity, ripe yellow fruit and a slightly bitter, earthy finish with hints of pepper and salt. Not a grand wine, but honest and satisfying.
A lovely wine for weekdays, to accompany light pasta dishes, grilled vegetables, fresh cheeses or a simple platter of cold meats. Serve at 9–11°C.
