Sancerre Blanc Les Garennes is a terroir-driven wine from an exceptional plot between Bué and Vinon, in the heart of the Sancerre appellation. This cuvée is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from old vines averaging 45 years old, planted on the famous chalky caillottes soil. These stony limestone soils are known for their ability to produce wines with tension, finesse and pronounced minerality. Producing around 30,000 bottles, this wine remains a characterful and authentic expression of its origins.
The vineyards are managed according to organic, biodynamic and regenerative farming principles, with an emphasis on soil life, biodiversity and respect for the natural ecosystem. Pruning according to the Guyot-Poussard method, the use of dynamic compost and careful work in the vineyard ensure healthy vines and optimal grape quality. Work in the cellar is minimalist: the grapes are slowly pressed with a pneumatic press and no sulphur is added during vinification. The wine is then aged for eight months on the fine lie in stainless steel tanks, adding structure and aromatic depth.
In the glass, Les Garennes presents itself with fresh aromas of citrus, white peach and subtle spiciness, supported by a distinctive chalky minerality. On the palate, the wine is lively and refined, with fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish. This Sancerre goes beautifully with oysters, seafood, grilled fish or a classic Loire goat cheese salad. Also with sushi, light vegetable dishes or refined aperitif moments, this wine shows its elegant and gastronomic character.
