Product description
This special wine from Alfio Nicolodi comes from a small plot (0.245 hectares) in Sausenti (Cembra), where the Frühroter Veltliner is grown at 600 metres altitude in an east-southwest exposure. The vines, planted in 1987 and managed according to the traditional Pergola Trentino, produce a modest yield of 100 q.li/ha on medium-heavy soils. This old Austrian variety is harvested by hand in small 20-kg crates, showing off the grape's character to full effect.
After harvest, the grapes undergo a 24-hour skin maceration, followed by gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation between 14-16 °C. Aging takes place for 6-8 months in stainless steel, with a further 2-3 months of bottle aging to further refine the profile. The result is a wine with a pronounced nose of pit fruit, melon and a hint of black pepper. The palate is fresh and lively with a light tannic structure and fine minerality.
This wine is part of the "Cembrani Copyright" project, which aims to preserve historic grape varieties in the Valle di Cembra. Thanks to its small-scale production and authentic character, this is a unique wine with a story. At the table, it pairs beautifully with light dishes such as trout, asparagus, vegetable pie or a salad with goat cheese. Serve at 12-14 °C for best expression.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
