This Kerner comes from a small vineyard of 0.285 hectares in the municipality of Segonzano, at an altitude of 650 metres with southwest exposure. The soil consists of porphyry gravel, which provides excellent drainage and minerality. The vines were planted in 2006 following the traditional Pergola Trentino system. The grapes are harvested manually in small 20 kg crates and carefully selected directly in the vineyard.
The must is obtained via gentle pressing, followed by a 24-hour rest period. Fermentation takes place at 14-16 °C with selected yeasts, after which the wine matures for 6 months on stainless steel and refines in bottle for a further 2 months. In the glass, a straw yellow wine appears with green reflections. The nose reveals aromas of tropical fruit and apple, while the palate is textured, with lively acidity and nice minerality derived from the terroir.
This Kerner is part of the "Cembrani Authored" project, which focuses on the revival of historic grape varieties in the Cembra Valley. The wine combines elegance with freshness and is a versatile companion to light dishes such as fish carpaccio, goat cheese or summer pasta salads. Serve at 10-12 °C to make the most of its lively character.
