Product description
Gamay 1840 is a charming, fruit-driven red wine from the sunny slopes between Chambéry and Albertville. The vineyards lie on argilo-limestone-rich alpine rubble soils, providing vibrancy, freshness and a slight minerality. This cuvée is an ode to the domain's founding year and represents accessible drinking pleasure with character.
The wine is made from 100% Gamay, harvested by hand and traditionally fermented with whole bunches, without pumping or bruising. A short maceration of six to eight days at controlled temperature preserves the juicy fruit and soft tannins. Six-month ageing on stainless steel keeps the style pure, light-footed and immediately drinkable.
In the glass, Gamay 1840 shows a bright ruby colour with violet reflections. The nose is bursting with small red fruits like strawberry and raspberry, with a subtle menthol note providing freshness. On the palate, the wine is round and supple, with discrete tannins and a fresh, fruity finish. An uncomplicated, cheerful red wine that invites the next glass.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
