Product description
Mondeuse "Le Tithonien" takes its name from the geological period in which the chalky slopes of Cruet were formed. On these argilo-limestone-rich, stony soils, facing south to south-east with views of the Alps, the native Mondeuse feels perfectly at home. The combination of sun, altitude and limestone gives the wine its fresh tension, floral spiciness and refined structure. Sometimes fossils are even found in these soils - a tangible reminder of the ancient origins of this terroir.
The wine is made from 100% Mondeuse, harvested by hand and partially destemmed. A 10- to 12-day maceration at controlled temperature preserves aromatic finesse and ensures gentle extraction. Six-month aging on stainless steel keeps the style pure and drinkable, with a focus on fruit, freshness and terroir expression.
In the glass, "Le Tithonien" shows a deep, purple-red colour with violet reflections. The nose combines small red fruits and violets with distinct peppery notes. On the palate, the wine is supple and juicy, with fresh acids and a slightly chalky minerality. The tannins give length and structure without being heavy, making this Mondeuse both approachable and full of character.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
