Domaine Gilg's Crémant d'Alsace Rosé Brut 2024 is an elegant sparkling rosé that beautifully expresses the finesse of Pinot Noir. This crémant is made from 100% Pinot Noir, sourced from vineyards on argilo-limestone-rich soils around Mittelbergheim, Andlau, Barr and Gertwiller. The vineyards are on sunny slopes between 160 and 300 metres altitude and are organically farmed. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected so that only perfectly ripe and healthy bunches are used for this refined sparkling wine.
The wine is produced using the méthode traditionnelle, with the second fermentation taking place in the bottle. After a short maceration of a few hours to obtain the rosé colour and aromatic intensity, the grapes are gently pressed. First fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then bottled for the second fermentation and aged on the lie for about 18 months, giving it a fine mousse and added complexity. With a dosage of around 7 g/l, the wine maintains a nice balance between freshness and fruit.
In the glass, this Crémant Rosé shows a beautiful bright pink colour with lively, fine bubbles. In the nose, aromas of strawberries, raspberries and other small red fruits appear. On the palate, the wine is fresh, elegant and harmonious, with a soft mousse and a refined finish. This versatile rosé bubble is ideal as an aperitif and pairs excellently with light starters, summer salads and fruity desserts such as strawberry tart.
