El Prodigio from Viticultores de Lapuebla is a refined and elegant white Rioja, made from old Viura vines from the higher altitude vineyards of Lapuebla de Labarca. The combination of altitude and chalky soils creates a wine with freshness, tension and a subtle minerality.
The 100% Viura grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a short cryomaceration to enhance aromatic intensity. After gentle pressing, the wine ferments in French oak barrels, followed by a 7-month maturation on fine lie with regular bâtonnage. This process gives the wine extra complexity, structure and a creamy texture without losing its freshness.
In the glass, it shows a pale yellow colour with golden reflections. The nose is fresh and expressive, with aromas of citrus fruits such as grapefruit, complemented by floral notes of jasmine and apple blossom. On the palate, it is lively and balanced, with fresh acidity, a refined structure and an elegant finish where mineral and slightly toasted notes come together.
