Product description
Le Cime Rosso IGT Veneto is an expressive and characterful Merlot from the volcanic slopes of Monte Crocetta in Gambellara. The vineyard lies on a soil of red-coloured volcanic rocks with a slight presence of limestone. Thanks to its south-facing exposition, the grapes are fully nurtured by the sun from early morning until afternoon. This unique microclimate, combined with the special soil composition, gives the wine its distinctive tension, ripeness and freshness.
Fermentation takes place with wild yeasts sourced from a careful pied de cuve. The grapes undergo a long skin soaking at controlled temperature, with regular délestage to naturally extract colour, aroma and tannins. After fermentation, the wine matures for two years in stainless steel, allowing it to fully retain its fruity and mineral character without excessive wood influence.
In the glass, Le Cime shows itself full-bodied yet refined, with juicy aromas of ripe berries, subtle spiciness and a striking mineral undertone. The tannins are soft, but provide enough structure to also be gastronomically useful. The finish is fresh, elegant and persistent - an intriguing red wine that reflects Gambellara's volcanic heritage in every sip.
Wine purchased via Onwine comes directly from the winery. All wineries pack the bottles themselves and hand them over to our shipping partner. Onwine works with boxes the size of 6 or 12 bottles.
To guarantee safe delivery, it is therefore also a requirement that orders are always made in multiples of 6 bottles.
The following shipping costs apply:
6 bottles at the same winery: €6,-
12+ bottles at the same winery: No shipping costs
You can order from several wineries at the same time. The above shipping costs apply to each individual winery.
