The Pinot Noir ‘Basis’ 2023 is the latest addition to Enderle & Moll’s accessible red wine range. Each year, the Basis reveals a slightly different character depending on the vintage, but the common thread remains: slender, fresh and honest, made without any intervention.
In the glass, the Basis 2023 is a clear cherry red. The nose is slightly smoky and spicy-herbal, with fresh berry aromas and a hint of pepper. On the palate, the fruit is bright, polished and dry yet juicy, with lively acidity and grip from soft tannins. Smoky nuances, a hint of lemon zest and salty notes give it its distinctive fresh character. It has bite and freshness, and the finish is crisp and satisfying. Slightly sharper and more focused than the 2022, with a more pronounced smoky character.
A wine to open straight away with weekday meals. It pairs well with grilled poultry, light meat dishes, a cheese platter or a simple pizza. Serve at 14–16°C.
