The Sancerre Blanc Le Chêne Marchand is an exceptional single-vineyard wine from the village of Bué, one of the most renowned terroirs of the Sancerre appellation. This cuvée is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc from approximately 30-year-old vines, planted on the characteristic chalky caillottes soil. These stony limestone soils give the wine a distinct minerality and refined tension. With a very limited production of only about 3,300 numbered bottles, Le Chêne Marchand is an exclusive and authentic expression of this exceptional parcel.
The vineyard operates according to organic, biodynamic and regenerative farming principles, with the preservation of biodiversity and soil life at its core. Through Guyot-Poussard pruning, dynamic compost and meticulous work in the vineyard, healthy grapes of optimal quality are obtained. In the cellar, the wine is vinified with minimal intervention: the grapes are slowly pressed with a pneumatic press and no sulphur is added during vinification. The wine is then aged for 12 months on fine lie in sandstone amphorae, adding texture, complexity and subtle depth.
In the glass, Le Chêne Marchand shows refined and expressive with aromas of citrus, ripe lime, white flowers and a pronounced chalky minerality. The wine has a lively structure, fresh acidity and a long, elegant finish with subtle spicy notes. This gourmet Sancerre pairs excellently with oysters, scallops, grilled fish and sophisticated seafood dishes. Its elegant and complex character also comes out beautifully with goat cheese, light vegetable dishes or sushi.
