The 2023 Merlot from Wein & Sektgut Hirschmüller is a powerful and modern red wine from loess loam on Muschel limestone, a soil that gives its wines a characteristic freshness and structure. The grapes are grown organically and gently pressed after 16 days of traditional peel fermentation, after which the young wine matures for 12 months in a 500-litre oak barrel. This method creates a harmonious balance between fruit intensity, structure and subtle wood tones.
In the glass, the Merlot shines with a deep dark colour. The aroma is immediately inviting, with aromas of wild cherry and dark forest fruits, complemented by spicy and slightly smoky accents.
