Nar is named after the ancient Latin name for the River Nera, the natural boundary of Narni’s historic territory. This white wine celebrates this unbreakable bond between wine and terroir by showcasing the distinctive Vermentino grape — a variety that has become a classic and is now widely grown in Umbria.
The Vermentino is vinified using cold maceration, aged exclusively in stainless steel and fermented slowly on fine lees. This results in a lively and full-bodied wine, dynamic and appealing. The process results in a wine full of vibrancy, finesse and expression of terroir. In the glass, Nar displays a clear, brilliant colour. The nose is fresh and intensely floral and fruity, with notes of white flowers, citrus fruit and hawthorn leaves. On the palate, the wine is graceful and well-structured, refreshing and full of flavour. All the elements are in harmony, resulting in a very pleasant and refined wine profile.
Nar is a fantastic aperitif wine and is perfectly suited as an introductory wine for any occasion. It is a natural match for shellfish and seafood. Pasta dishes, risottos and white meats are also suitable pairings.
