Domaine Gilg
Alsace, Mittelbergheim
In the heart of Mittelbergheim, one of France's most beautiful villages along the famous Route des Vins d'Alsace, lies Domaine Gilg. Between half-timbered houses, centuries-old cellars and rolling vineyards, this family has been writing its wine story for more than four centuries. The family's origins date back to 1601, when their ancestors from Austria settled in the village. Generation after generation, they lived off the land - from viticulture, agriculture and sometimes tonnage. Today, the estate is run by Jean-Christophe Lehner, together with his wife Michèle and their son Étienne. This keeps the family heritage, now 16 generations old, alive and in motion.
