This characterful Beaujolais Villages Rouge 'Les Granits' from Château de Durette is an honest and expressive wine, from a plot of just one hectare with 60-year-old Gamay vines. The vines are deeply rooted in a subsoil of granitic sand, which gives this cuvée its typical freshness and minerality.
The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo traditional vinification, with 60% of the harvest destemmed to create a nice balance between fruit and structure. Aging takes place in stainless steel tanks to fully preserve the wine's vibrancy and fruity character.
In the glass, the wine shines in a ruby colour with cherry red reflections. The nose is immediately seduced by intense aromas of red currant, blackcurrant and raspberry, accompanied by a subtle floral touch. The palate is supple, fruit-driven and elegant, with a fresh finish that invites the next sip. Serve this wine lightly chilled (13-14°C) and enjoy it with charcuterie, grilled meat or simply in good company. A pure and accessible Beaujolais with a Burgundian heart.
