Zanotelli's Kerner is an expressive white wine from the Piazzòle vineyards in Lona-Lases, located at 500 to 650 metres altitude in the Val di Cembra. This particular grape variety, a cross between Riesling Renano and the blue Schiava grape, was developed in Germany in 1929. In the fresh microclimate of the Dolomites, Kerner develops a distinct aromatic profile full of finesse and tension.
In the glass, this wine shows a straw yellow colour with subtle green-gold reflections. The nose is intense and complex, with inviting notes of yellow peach, tropical fruit, citrus and floral hints of jasmine and white flowers. The palate is full and powerful, carried by a lively minerality and refreshing acidity. These characteristics make the wine not only aromatically appealing, but also surprisingly energetic and gastronomically useful.
The Kerner is excellent as an aperitif, but also comes into its own beautifully when paired with mature cheeses or seafood. The wine can also be served perfectly at 12 °C to fully show off its aromatic elegance. A distinctive white wine from the mountains that effortlessly combines elegance and expressiveness.
