Corvée's Müller Thurgau Viàch is an elegant white wine from the high-altitude Viàch vineyard in Faver, at almost 700 metres above sea level. Located on the steep slopes of the Cembra Valley, the vineyard is an impressive example of human craftsmanship: a succession of terraced rows and dry stone walls, hand-hewn from the mountain landscape. Thanks to its south- to south-east exposure, the site receives plenty of sunlight, which gives the grapes their characteristic ripeness and aromatic finesse.
The soil, poor and well-drained, consists of sand formed by the crumbling of volcanic porphyry rock. This unique terroir contributes to the wine's fresh and mineral expression. In the glass, Viàch reveals delicate aromas of white flowers like lily of the valley and jasmine, complemented by fresh notes of mountain apples like renetta and juicy Kaiser pears. The wine is lively, pure and possesses a nice length, thanks in part to the careful vinification: manual harvest, gentle pressing, fermentation at controlled temperature and an eight-month ageing on the fine lees, followed by six months of bottle rest.
Viàch is a perfect companion to light and refined dishes. Think risotto with courgette flowers, trout with lemon and dill, or soft goat cheese with garden herbs. This fresh high-flyer also comes into its own with sushi or fresh spring vegetables. A wine that translates mountain freshness into a sophisticated, modern table experience.
