'Cotidie Rosso' IGP Calabria Rosso is a wine that only seemingly qualifies as an "entry-level wine". Behind this seemingly modest label lies a characterful, deep ruby red cuvée with impressive complexity and intensity. Made from both indigenous and international grape varieties - including Magliocco, Gaglioppo, Calabrese, Merlot and Syrah - this wine combines the power of Calabria with the finesse of craftsmanship. The grapes come from three vineyards with diverse layouts and soils, giving the wine a broad and nuanced aromatic profile.
Fermentation takes place in a combination of stainless steel tanks (10-30%) and wooden barrels (70-90%), giving the wine structure and depth. On the nose, it opens with ripe red fruits in jam, followed by expressive aromas of rhubarb, red rose, plums and amarene cherries. Subtle notes of essential spices, menthol, sea breeze, leather, sweet tobacco, pink pepper, liquorice and orange peel follow in a layered olfactory experience that continues to intrigue.
On the palate, 'Cotidie Rosso' makes a powerful and compelling start: warm and precise, with round but present tannins. The wine shows a mineral touch and invigorating freshness at the same time, keeping things exciting and balanced.
