'Ameliò' Bianco IGP Calabria is a rare and distinct expression of Calabria, with an annual production of only 420 to 840 bottles. This wine is created from a cuvée of several white base wines that are brought together immediately after alcoholic fermentation and then aged on amphora. The duration of ageing varies from vintage to vintage, according to what the vintage and the wines demand.
The 2022 edition of Ameliò Bianco presents itself with a deep straw yellow colour and an impressive aromatic profile. In the nose, lively citrus aromas dominate, followed by floral notes of broom and ripe Kaiser pear. The elegant spiciness is striking, with a touch of white pepper. Unlike many amphora wines, Ameliò has no trace of oxidation, but rather a surprising purity and precision.
