This Pietra di Confine is an expressive white wine from the high vineyards of Faver, located at an altitude of no less than 780 metres in the Val di Cembra. This wine is the result of a restoration project of an old vineyard, aiming to bring out the full value of the grape Müller Thurgau.
The wine is produced with care: after gentle pressing and cold settling, the juice ferments at low temperature (14-16 °C) with selected yeasts. This is followed by a six-month ageing in stainless steel tanks and a further two months in bottle. The soil of light, porphyric origin contributes to the wine's fresh, mineral signature.
In the glass, it shows a straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The aroma is fruity, with delicate notes of ripe white fruit and a hint of mineral 'hydrocarbons' typical of Müller Thurgau from high-altitude vineyards. On the palate, it is harmonious, with a medium body, fresh acids and a mineral finish that lingers for a long time.
This wine is excellent with light starters, grilled vegetables, fish dishes, poultry or soft cheeses. Serve chilled at 8-10 °C for the best experience of its freshness and elegance.
