This Pietra di Confine Rosso is an elegant red wine that has its roots deep in the Val di Cembra. At an altitude of 600 metres, in the vineyards of Faver, the Pinot Nero grapes are harvested by hand from vines that have been growing on light porphyric soils since 1998. Careful vinification in stainless steel tanks, with some of the stalks for extra structure, and ageing in small 225-litre wooden barrels give this wine its special character.
The wine has a ruby red colour and opens with an intense fruity aroma reminiscent of wild strawberries, redcurrants and cherries. On the palate, it is refined and mineral, with an elegant spiciness and notes of white pepper and chalk. The combination of ripe red fruit, fine acidity and velvety tannins creates a wine that is not only harmonious and expressive, but also reflects its origins beautifully.
Pinot Nero Trentino D.O.C. is an excellent companion to veal, poultry, mushrooms and soft cheeses. It also comes into its own lightly chilled with charcuterie or dishes of Italian cuisine. Serve at 14-16 °C to fully experience its subtle aroma and refinement.
